Sting Free AB's award-winning nicotine pouch gains patent approval in the US and Europe. Sting Free technology makes portion-packed snus and nicotine products more accessible by eliminating the characteristic stinging of the products on the sensitive gums.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patent approvals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sting Free AB is proud to announce that our US patent application has been approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (a) (USPAT). The European Patent Organization (EPO) (b) has recently issued \u201can intention to grant European patent\u201d covering 39 countries. The company already holds the Swedish patent rights (c).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the market<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current smokeless tobacco products are estimated to generate $15.6 billion globally in 2020 and are expected to increase to $22.2 billion by 2025 (d). This is despite the fact that vaping is often (e) cited as a deterrent for new users of portion-packed nicotine products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dWe expect the market for single-serve nicotine products to grow almost exponentially, especially in foreign markets, as more manufacturers and brands adopt our Sting Free technology.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>,<\/strong>says Sting Free AB's CEO Bengt Wiberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The patents cover a new and improved pouch where one side of the pouch is impermeable to liquids. Products that can use this technology include snus, tobacco-free All White nicotine products, chewing tobacco, CBD and others. This allows manufacturers of portion-packed nicotine products to easily create new products with completely different properties from those currently on the market. The most important difference from the traditional pouch is that the impermeable side eliminates burning of the user's gums. In addition, the technology allows manufacturers to improve flavor sensations, strengths, pH levels and nicotine release profiles of their pouch products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sting Free technology has already been successfully produced in a prototype series of industrial snus packaging machines, without the need to make any machine changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swedish Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sting Free AB's vision is to bring the so-called \u201dSwedish Experience\u201d to the world through various portion-packed nicotine products. \u201cThe Swedish Experience refers to the fact that Swedish men have by far the lowest percentage of smokers (f) and also the lowest tobacco mortality (g) in the EU. However, Swedes have the same level of tobacco consumption as the EU average as 24 % of men and 7 % of women are regular snus users (h).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards and prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sting Free has been awarded The<\/strong> Golden Leaf Award<\/strong> (i) at the Global Tobacco and Nicotine Forum in New York for the category \u201dMost exciting newcomer in the industry\u201d<\/strong> including motivation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future of Sting Free AB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These patent approvals allow us to start license negotiations in Europe and North America with manufacturers and distributors shortly. Sting Free AB has signed letters of intent with both Swedish and foreign manufacturers of snus and tobacco-free All White products in August 2020. Currently, Sting Free AB has a non-exclusive license agreement with Swedish Match<\/strong>, the world's largest snus manufacturer and producer of the successful, tobacco-free, ZYN<\/strong> the products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
