Lidingö-based Stingfree AB, pioneers in snus innovation, has completed a successful rights issue that generated SEK 5 million in capital. The investment values the company at SEK 40.6 million and confirms the strong confidence in Stingfree's groundbreaking technology. Among the investors is Erik Selin, through his company Erik Selin Fastigheter AB, which has now increased its ownership to 21.9%.
Stingfree offers the world's only snus pill with integrated gum protection. This patented innovation effectively counteracts burning and irritation, common problems for many snus users.
A unique pilot study conducted in spring 2024 with 23 snus-using dentists confirms the positive effect of technology on oral health. Participants experienced a marked reduction in snuff lesions and inflammation after switching to Stingfree for five weeks. An impressive 20 out of 23 dentists now recommend Stingfree to their patients who experience oral health problems due to snuffing.
Stingfree addresses a widespread problem. Studies show that 70-90% of all snus users suffer from snus lesions, which corresponds to over 1.2 million people in Sweden and Norway alone.
”We focus on improving users” oral health, unlike other manufacturers who compete mainly on taste and strength," says CEO Daniel Wiberg.
The company aims to establish Stingfree as a new standard in snus. ”We want to be as obvious as diet soda or GoreTex,” explains Daniel Wiberg.
Surveys conducted by Stingfree show that a majority of snus users, 67% of women and 53% of men, are concerned about burning and irritation from snus.
Stingfree AB, founded with the vision of a smoke-free world with improved oral health for snus users, sells its products in Sweden and 100 other countries. The patented technology is approved in the US and Europe until 2035.
